06/15/2012 - 06/17/2012June 15th to 17th: At Dun the Right Way Horses Ranch. The camp is limited to 10 youth for this camp. It will be an all day camp with a sleep over to end your day. We will focus on learning the basics of solid ground work and the fundamentals of horsemanship in western and English riding. Youth will get to practice techniques to make them safe and solid in the show ring, the back yard, or country side rides. We will learn to advance their skills in areas they want to excel in. This camp is designed to push their talents and test their skills. The camp is open to youth from all over the country and all levels. Space is limited. Cost: $300 per person or $250 if received by April 15th. There are a limited number of horses available to rent for the camp. Boarding is also available and owners/riders who are responsible for hay, feed, or supplements. Age appropriate for 8 to 18 year olds.

School Days involves as many old-time skills as can be gleaned from volunteers. Annual favorites include blacksmithing, soap-making, silversmithing. Musicians play old-time music throughout the day. Besides the fold artist demonstrations, the Pie Social, a fund raising tradition from days of old, and the Dutch oven lunch provide plenty of food. The longest traditional running relay in America and the 2nd longest traditional running relay in the world. The relay starts at the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, just outside Baker City, Oregon; the route then heads east on Oregon State Hwy. 86 around the south side of the Wallowa Mountains, then turns north on Forest Service Road 39 (Wallowa Mountain Loop Road) heading towards beautiful Joseph Oregon, ending in La Grande Oregon. This is a total of 285 miles. Provisions will be included in the fee for the relay.
